Hello again for the last time. The race from Farina was a lot harder than I expected with several wind changes for them on the way home . We had one reported at Fowlers Bay , the other side of Ceduna it flew into a couples camp site .
Firstly congratulations to the owners of the first 4 birds and everyone that got birds home with several getting multiple birds .
Fred 3 ,Greg 3, Andrew 5, Brian 2 ,Rodney 5, Steve 2, Don 2 ,Manny 2 ,Daryl and Dave 2 and my old mate Pykee entering 1 and getting it home.
Allan liberated birds for three other flyers plus our two and three olds separately and no one had very good returns one flyer 13 out 56 4 out of 39, 20 out of 42 and ourselves 60 from 110 with a lot of them flying Farina and Packsaddle the last 2 years.
We have had several birds arrive late with the owners being advised, the last one Tuesday.
Niki and I would like to thank everyone that has supported the Kids with Cancer Foundation one loft race raising just over 20 thousand dollars for those poor unfortunate children.
We will have a few race teams available for sale this season with all proceeds going to the KWC Foundation .Teams of 15 for 500 dollars the teams we sold last time for the Foundation achieved 25 fed places and one winning 500 mile race by 22 minutes , she was less than 7 months old .
Next year with the help of Greg Hodgins we aim to run an auction of stock birds and a few race teams kindly donated by some generous flyers , anyone that is interested in helping out with a few birds next please contact Greg or myself in the future.
One good thing that has happened to us running this OLR is we have formed a lot of lifelong friendships who we intend to catch up with once I retire and start travelling in about 15 months if I live that long.
Thanks again all the best for the future
Niki and Fricky

Update 6/8/21
Hello again , The birds have fully recovered from Rota Virus and our flying exceptionally well around the loft with several tosses being completed , I had the birds on Tummy Rite prior to them getting the virus I had been told previous to stocking the products that several flyers' birds did get over Rota Virus a lot quicker than other club members birds that were not on Tummy Rite .
The weather has really been against us to maintain the birds tossing programme , most days it has been raining or the wind has been well over 30 kph or both . The lock down did not have any effect as living in the country and being a farmer of sorts has allowed me to go nearly anywhere .
I went into hospital yesterday and received another course of needles in my back hopefully this time it works , I will be back tossing tomorrow onwards as the weather is started to improve and is going to maintain a good outlook for tossing for the next week or so .
Most birds have had chip rings attached and a full list will on website in the next few days . there has only been a few birds lost to this date .
The date for the first race will be listed shortly
All the best
regards Fricky

Update 22/7/21
Hello again , to the flyers that can race hope you are having a good season and those that can't hopefully it won't be too long .
The birds have been flying exceptionally well around the loft and ranging well , I have only been able to give them a few tosses mainly because of the weather .
We had a stray from Adelaide came in Saturday the 10th of August , found it on Sunday morning before letting them out . I took it out immediately and put it in a hamper and then let the birds out as normal , every Sunday I lock the birds out for around four hours to bath etc .
I tossed the birds on Monday and Tuesday all was good until Wednesday morning when I found vomited grain in a couple of squares. I let the birds out with four not interested in leaving the loft . I had a thought that it might be ROTA but only two squares having grain in them I dismissed it until Thursday morning when I found app twelve with grain .
I put them on electrolytes and all small grains straight away , we only had sick birds in the KIDS with Cancer loft .
I kept them locked down for a few days until the vomit stopped and the droppings got back to nearly normal .
When I did let the birds out they all came out straight away and flew for more than an hour and they are really going good again .
Thankfully we only got a very mild case of ROTA ,as we had to stop tossing it has put the birds back a bit. Subsequently there will now be only two races .
The chip rings will be going on over the next few days so everyone can see what birds they have in the loft
The date for the final race will still be held on the original date , once this weather has cleared I will be back tossing them again
All the best
